I felt silly for committing number 9.  Number nine is not using the read more button.   I did’nt  find that for 2 months!  I had a ten page long blog pretty quick, before I figured out where that button was (next to the spell check icon).

I love number 12, the one that I was concerned about most as a newbie,  which is your domain/wordpress looks silly…. where as your domain/blog is not silly.

Did you know that those unactive pluggins you have sitting in you admin. can result in easier hacker access?  Make sure you delete those.

Google drive gives you 5 GB of storage up front to use, then it’s charging a small fee if you need more space than that. Now you can get 25GB of added Google Drive storage space for $2.49 per month, or a whopping 100GB for only $4.99 per month. Instead of sending your photos one by one in 50 different emails now you can click and move on with your day. This feature will be appreciated by real estate agents, home inspectors, and really anyone who needs to take a lot of video or photos in their daily tasks. You can pick who you want to send and share the files with. One feature that stands out is the fact that you can dynamically edit the content of the files whenever needed even after they have been sent out. If you forgot one shot you can simply add it later and there is no need to resend everything. The person you send the files to can also be granted the ability to alter the files making it a very easy, user friendly, and team oriented tool.

There has been a ton of talk about Google Docs and Google Drive. Drive will become the default web interface for all users in the near future. Google Docs is roadkill, finally giving in to Google Drive . I just installed the new Google Drive that replaces the Docs tab in gmail. From what I can tell very little has changed, I just seem to have more options. There is a cool feature that grids my docs or I can view with the traditional list view.  Apparently it will be easier to email large files,  you can still edit documents anywhere and together with your colleagues.

Google Docs and Google Drive are now synonymous. The new motto is “Keep Everything Share Everything.”  With all this keeping and sharing you might ask,  “What about space?”.  Well they offer an upgrade from the standard 5GB of storage space for documents, videos, photos, PDFs and other files, and Google Docs is built-in to the service. Rumor has it that users will be able to upgrade to 25GB of space for $2.49 a month, 100GB for $4.99 a month, or 1TB for $49.99 a month, and upgrading to a paid account will expand your Gmail storage to 25GB. .” I love that it is cloud storage, so there is no threat of losing your work when switching from device to device. Go ahead jump in the pool with your cell phone, Google Drive has you covered.

Google states that Drive is an open platform, and that it is working with third-party developers to allow users to “send faxes, edit videos, and create website mockups directly from Drive.”.

According to the strategic marketing firm, “Corporate Insight”, financial services companies have flocked to using Twitter instead of Facebook for publicity.  Their new study calculated that 67% of financial services firms now have a presence on Twitter (a 10% increase in only 10 months), whereas Facebook presence only increased to 59% (a mere 3% increase).  Why the switch? Senior analyst of Corporate Insight, Alan Maginn, suggests that it has to do with relationship differences. Maginn claims that Facebook is more “relationship driven” and is therefore more challenging when compared to a content- based platform such as Twitter.

Although there holds great truth to this statement by Alan Maginn, it is important to remember that there does not need to be a choice made.  Twitter can hold a greater online marketing advantage, but this does not mean that Facebook should be completely ignored.  Using both social media platforms instead of one allows you to be seen in more places, and as we all know, the more the better.
