According to the strategic marketing firm, “Corporate Insight”, financial services companies have flocked to using Twitter instead of Facebook for publicity. Their new study calculated that 67% of financial services firms now have a presence on Twitter (a 10% increase in only 10 months), whereas Facebook presence only increased to 59% (a mere 3% increase). Why the switch? Senior analyst of Corporate Insight, Alan Maginn, suggests that it has to do with relationship differences. Maginn claims that Facebook is more “relationship driven” and is therefore more challenging when compared to a content- based platform such as Twitter.
Although there holds great truth to this statement by Alan Maginn, it is important to remember that there does not need to be a choice made. Twitter can hold a greater online marketing advantage, but this does not mean that Facebook should be completely ignored. Using both social media platforms instead of one allows you to be seen in more places, and as we all know, the more the better.
Seogon Technologies wants you to be aware of these changes so you can better promote your company online. Every little bit counts and new studies such as these can help to inform you about where and how your promotional efforts can be best seen. These platforms can serve as a step into the world of online awareness and Seogon will continue to inform you on the ways you can personally increase your Internet marketing levels.

Although Google+ has had excellent ratings overall, it’s unexpectedly fast-paced growth in popularity has shown to be somewhat problematic. Last weekend, a glitch in Google+ resulted in Google accidentally “spamming” users with multiple notification emails. This was apparently caused by a temporarily lack of disc space brought on by overuse.
Other small problems exist with Google+, like the absence of a verification system (which allows you to know if a person is really celebrity or just pretending) and a lack some sort of institution page (that allows businesses to promote products and adds to their Internet marketing tactics).
Although Google seems to be experiencing small problems such as these, it can all be blamed on a rapid growth in popularity, which should not necessarily be considered a bad thing. As long as these quirks don’t substantially hinder it’s rapid growth, Google+ need not to worry.

Google recently revealed that two of their largest products, Blogger and Picasa, will be renamed, further strengthening the Google’s brand. Blogger, one of the most visited websites worldwide, will be renamed, “Google Blogs.” Picasa, which is also one of Google’s most popular products, will soon be referred to as, “Google Photos.” There has also been mention that other Google acquisitions will be re-branded to help strengthen the Google name.
Said changes are being implemented to support Google’s up-and-coming social network platform, “Google+.” These changes will allow for Google to integrate these blog and photo products into their new social network, allowing for greater unification and Internet marketing strategy.
Seogon wants you to stay informed with major changes such as this one in order to better enhance your search engine optimization efforts. This new unification will likely alter the weight that Google assigns to their offsite blog, and we intend to keep up with the changes.

Google has announced the launch of a new social network called Google+. This new social networking platform is seen by many as Google’s attempt to compete with Facebook. Although there are many differences between the two, the addition of video chat to Google+ seems to be the biggest. There are also many similarities, including photo sharing, organization of friends, and much more.
Google has said that their social media creation is not supposed to compete with Facebook, but rather serve as a way to connect to your tight knit groups of friends on a more personal level. Google+ is still in the beginning stage, and it is probable that Google will add even more to this new social media start-up. It has yet to be seen if Google+ will become a dominant player in the social media marketing arena.
