American Adventure Expeditions is the only company to have two riverside outposts that will get you to whitewater rafting river adventure even faster. Our Royal Gorge outpost is located just ten miles west of Canon City and will quickly get you to both the Bighorn Sheep Canyon rafting and Royal Gorge rafting. American Adventure Expeditions certainly has a distinct advantage having this facility as it is the only outpost located directly on the Arkansas River. This state of the art facility features hot showers, changing facilities, two outdoor picnic pavilions, and a first-class retail store. The Buena Vista outpost is the meeting point for Brown’s Canyon rafting and The Numbers rafting. This outpost is located at the base of the Collegiate Peaks, a group of 14,000 foot mountains that make up a great part of the continental divide. This facility features the famous “Riverside Beer Garden and Grill” and other helpful amenities.

When booking trips, be realistic about everyone’s abilities so no one is uncomfortable or unsafe. If there are any medical conditions, physical limitations, or anyone is seriously overweight, they should contact a physician prior to booking a trip. For safety reasons, if anyone is deemed under the influence of drugs or alcohol, services will be refused. Due to the inherent risk in rafting, all participants are required to sign an assumption of risk/release of liability waiver. Although we are fully licensed and insured, participation in river rafting is done at your own risk. A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking and the remaining is due 7 days prior to the departure of the trip. Refunds are given to cancellations more than 7 days prior to trip, but anything within the 7 days prior will not receive a refund. All guides are certified raft guides with the Colorado State Parks and have up-to-date CPR and First-Aid Certifications.
