As search engine algorithms continue to evolve, it can be difficult to know what is needed to keep up with the times. What do you need to do to get your website on top? What SEO strategies should you use more than others? Although there may not be one simply answer, certain tactics can work quicker than others. One of these strategies involves Google’s recent algorithm update regarding the importance of fresh web content.
For years, it was enough to simply write your page content and virtually leave it alone. Now, a website that Google feels has been stagnant for a long time, may be thought of as less-relevant. If you can’t remember the last time you updated your web content, it’s probably time to do so.
Content freshness does not need to be achieved on a daily, or even weekly, basis. Google simply wants to know that your website is not old and out-of-date. Let the search engines know that you’re still relevant and have something to say by updating your pages from time to time.
Although updating your content is most likely not the only thing that’s going to get you to the top of the list, it can play an important role within your rankings. Combine this with the rest of your SEO strategies, and you’ll have a recipe to be proud of.

According to the strategic marketing firm, “Corporate Insight”, financial services companies have flocked to using Twitter instead of Facebook for publicity. Their new study calculated that 67% of financial services firms now have a presence on Twitter (a 10% increase in only 10 months), whereas Facebook presence only increased to 59% (a mere 3% increase). Why the switch? Senior analyst of Corporate Insight, Alan Maginn, suggests that it has to do with relationship differences. Maginn claims that Facebook is more “relationship driven” and is therefore more challenging when compared to a content- based platform such as Twitter.
Although there holds great truth to this statement by Alan Maginn, it is important to remember that there does not need to be a choice made. Twitter can hold a greater online marketing advantage, but this does not mean that Facebook should be completely ignored. Using both social media platforms instead of one allows you to be seen in more places, and as we all know, the more the better.
Seogon Technologies wants you to be aware of these changes so you can better promote your company online. Every little bit counts and new studies such as these can help to inform you about where and how your promotional efforts can be best seen. These platforms can serve as a step into the world of online awareness and Seogon will continue to inform you on the ways you can personally increase your Internet marketing levels.

Google has announced the launch of a new social network called Google+. This new social networking platform is seen by many as Google’s attempt to compete with Facebook. Although there are many differences between the two, the addition of video chat to Google+ seems to be the biggest. There are also many similarities, including photo sharing, organization of friends, and much more.
Google has said that their social media creation is not supposed to compete with Facebook, but rather serve as a way to connect to your tight knit groups of friends on a more personal level. Google+ is still in the beginning stage, and it is probable that Google will add even more to this new social media start-up. It has yet to be seen if Google+ will become a dominant player in the social media marketing arena.

Seogon Technologies recently published a post about the new expansion of domain names that will soon take place. This expansion of the generic top level domain (gTLD) has the ability to open new doors to Internet marketing possibilities. This new Internet feature will allow businesses to buy their own personalized address: no more “.com” or “.org”. Instead, your address could be anything. For example, “seogon.com” could become “seogon.seogon”. Now, ICANN (The Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers) has released a short video explaining this new Internet feature.
The video helps explain the benefits of this new domain name acquisition, as well as the hardships involved in attaining one. It helps to inform about possible opportunities, explains the investment process, and can help someone better understand what this new gTLD change is all about.
This soon-to-be Internet expansion will undoubtedly affect what the future of the Internet has in store for us.

It looks like new expansions on domain names will be added into the Internet marketing world in the near future. National Public Radio released a report this morning saying that, “The Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers”, (the corporation who oversees web addresses), recently announced that Internet addresses will soon no longer have to be a “.com” or a “.org” or anything else currently established.
Soon, a company will have the option to pay to have their own unique address name- and it can be almost anything they want it to be. For example, this means that Walmart’s new Internet name could change from walmart.com to “walmart.walmart” if they wanted to. The only catch- it is going to cost $185,000 to do this. Buying your own address could open doors to new possibilities, yet we will have to wait to see what the future brings and if this can actually be a worthwhile investment.
So what does this have to do with search engine optimization? Domain names hold a certain weight in a search engine’s algorithm, and therefore adding your name into your web address in this manner could potentially increase your search rankings.
It is still too early to tell how this Internet addition will really play into major SEO efforts, but Seogon will keep you updated with this news so you can have more insight into how your marketing world is changing.

Google has done it again! Yet another improvement is soon to be released within their search engine algorithm geared toward shaving off even more time on search results. This technique is an addition to their instant pages and supposedly will cut out between 2-5 seconds of search time.
According to an article from Guardian.co.uk, “Instant Pages employs the user’s Google search history together with the relevance of each search result, and around 200 other algorithmic factors, to determine which link they are most likely to click on, and begins contacting the server to load that page in the background as soon as the search results appear.”
If this wasn’t enough, other announcements such as a desktop voice search and a new image search feature are also right around the corner. To read the whole article about these new Google additions, click here.
So what does this mean for search engine optimization tactics? You guessed it- the algorithmic weights will be slightly changed. Seogon makes sure to keep up with these important news flashes in order to act accordingly. Although it may take time to see exactly how these new implementations affect SEO, this algorithm update is sure to positively support such search engine optimization efforts!
